Moates Software help...
I ordered a cable a few weeks ago, downloaded Moates, set it for 730 type chip & plugged it in. Start the car, start the software, raw data shows, press 1 a couple times & info starts showing... then the laptop locks up tight, no keyboard or touchpad input possible. Hard powerdown was the only option. Tried it a couple of times, same thing, locks up the OS from what I can tell. This is an older HP (PII 350 I think), Win 98 version 1.

Okay, so start the laptop in DOS mode only & it works fine. Now to start learning how to read what I am seeing.
Anyone else use this application & care to share how they use it & what they learned?
How do I know if a knock count is high or normal?
Is the errors in the lower left going between 2 & 3 telling me I need to change my baud rate or something?
Can I use the software to clear my one code? EGR diagnostics likes to set on occasion. Somehow it must know there isn't anything to diagnose?? :-)
