I have just rebuilt my motor. New larger exhaust valves, heavier springs, mild cam upgrade, roller rockers. I'm still in the break in phase but have a back fire problem from the exhaust. Any ideas that I can check out?
thanks
How many degrees of ignition timing? Have you run a compression test to rule out a leaking exhaust valve? What procedure did you use to adjust your rocker arms? I'm assuming your plug wires are on correctly according to firing order.
Exhaust backfires are only caused by one thing: Fuel burning in the manifold or pipes instead of the combustion chamber. Just a matter of finding out why. Any chance you have a leaking injector that is pouring fuel into a cylinder? Are any of the plugs fuel fouled?
Does the distributor cap have any cracks that could cause arcing?
