One of the F-body guys had 50 series flowmasters on his car, which made it sound just like a Mustang. :U I'm guessing you'll probably want to avoid them.
I resent this comment I own a Vette and 2 Mustangs 5.0's and not for nothing I have flowmasters on all of my cars and my Vette could only dream of sounding like any of my mustangs my friend!!!

Nothing on this planet sounds like a mustang 5.0 with two chamber Flows!! unless you are a girl and are clueless .... where its all just noise!!

But.... Nothing...... Nothing..... Nothing does!!!!

As much as I love my Vette and I get lots of looks since its a bit different lookin ... but my mustang 5.0 5 speed w Flows and Welds instills Fear and rips the hearts of most street racers before the light even turns green.... just by the sound of it!!!
Further more if your not running at least high 11's ... it will hurt you!!!

Not bad for a car I paid 3 grand for and its still mostly stock and my girlfriend uses as daily driver with 150k miles!!

I have a Mustang too. Let's just say the Vette definitely looks better. ;)

Congratulations, you have an opinion! It's not correct, neither is mine, or anybody else's for that matter. You're setting yourself up for some sad disappointment if you think everybody you meet is gonna agree with you. I would say I'm sorry your opinion is different from mine, but I'm not sorry.

I'm not trying to start any fights. I'm just trying to point out that an opinion is just that, an opinion. If you can't accept that other people may have a different opinion, well you might make a good supreme dictator somewhere.

While I'm not quite as passionate as this guy, I will agree that there is IMO, NOTHING that sounds better than a 5.0 with Flowmaster cat-back exhaust...

Mustangs do sound good, and they look good, but for the money, they are slow. But hey, this is one of those.... :beatdeadhorse: subjects..lol

Whoaa ... someone does seem like they wanna fight !!! Hehe....

Look bro forgive me if I touched a bad note there :)

Personally I'm an american muscle car enthusiast and have been since I was a boy... I don't cut and dice american muscle like alot of car fanatics do!

I love and appreciate all american muscle... thats a fact!!

Whats also a fact is that the LT1 and the 302 are setup differently.

Being different sizes (Cubes).... Different compresions... having totally different head designs... runner design... ..intakes... Cam specs ... etc ....

Ever change the cam\ heads or an intake on a car??
First thing you will notice is the sound!!!

Those are facts ... facts that would directly inevitably affect the tone and output exhausts from the engines... and since the setups and the size are totally different so will the sounds of them.

In my life have I ever made the mistake of hearing the roaring of a car before seeing it and mistaking a mustang for a Vette or any LT1 powered GM.

If anything I'll say "before seeing it" thats the unmistakable sound of a Mustang and be dead on everytime because they sound so distinctive!!

I'll make a thread for you to see how many here actually will agree that an LT1 350 engine sounds like or could sound like a 5.0 302...

But then again I'll be nice and I won't!! :D

But if it makes you feel better despite the facts that its just "my opinion" that they sound different.... then for "PEACE SAKE" ......

Ok they sound the same!!! :yesnod:

i think the mustang 5.0 with flows sounds identical to the 02 firebird with flows in our parking lot.
from in the shop i have to look out there to see whos leaving.
but thats just my opinion :P
i just ordered the magnaflows tonight.mainly for the finish, but also because a local flowmaster dealer told me he could only get the complete system from flowmaster for a grand.they dont list muffs only for the lt1 anymore i guess.resonance problems was what he said.
bummed me out cuz i like the sound of the flowmasters ive heard.fingers crossed on the magnaflows.

WTF? Chill out. You don't have to even agree that they sound the same. That's alright though, we'll all bow down to your perfectly tuned ear. None can identify a car like you can.

I ask you to look back at my original post and tell me where I said that said car sounded exactly like a 5.0 Mustang with 40 series flowmasters? Oh wait, you can't. I said it sounded just like a MUSTANG. This could mean that it sounds like a stock Mustang, a V6 Mustang, a Mustang with headers and turndowns. I left it extremely generic and you had to go and try to make it personal. Calm down bud.

Nathan I think you took me a little too personal bro  ....
Again I will apologize if I touched a bad note.. .. and went a different route with the subject... I can assure you I don't get personal ... especially with someone on here.
I just have a big mouth... its the Latin/Italian in me who loves to express and someone always takes it the wrong way. :D

You are right we're all entitled to our opinions if thats what you heard then so be it.

See now have a  with me :D

Now you can get off your hands and knees and stop bowing down to my perfectly tuned ear.......
