Well, another problem, 90 vette needs new shocks. The suspension is the in car adjustable that came from the factory, my friend is being told the replacement shocks are nearly $800 each. I can not find anything on them. Also he was told he could not just put regular shocks on his car because the car would bottom out. All this seems like a bunch of BS but then again, what do I know. Again, Any heklp would be appreciated.
Your adjustable suspension is known as FX3. And yes, they are more expensive than the stock shocks. Do some window shopping at MAD, Eckler's, Summit Racing, etc.

Re: SHocked about the shocks (newtovettes)
Bilstein is the only brand I've ever seen for the FX3 suspension. You can, of course, use regular (non-FX3) shocks without penalty...the car will work just fine.
Shocks don't support the car, the springs do that. The shocks simply control suspension movement velocities.
Good luck!!
You have the choice of staying with the adjustable suspension or going to
a non adjustable suspension. Normal shocks cost between $50. and $75.
each. 95% of C-5 Vetts use the non-adjustable suspension. KYB makes a
gas shock for 39.95 and AC-Delco makes gas shocks for 129.95 for a set of
four. The above can be purchased at ZIP Products. ;)
