Default Do you know where.....

I am checking all of the grounds to make sure they are tight (long story that we won't get into right now) and cannot find one. G201 It is listed in several diagrams in the factory manual. It is the only one that isn't shown on a component diagram. Manual states: behind instrument panel, toward top left of the steering column. I have tried to visually locate it, but my shoulders are a little too wide for less than ample floor space. After several broken ribs, torn rotator cuff on both shoulders, bypass surgery and God's wisdom to let me walk on two legs rather than have the backbone of a dog, I simply don't have the flexibility to find the darned thing. If anyone has an idea or can point me straight to it, I would take no offense at being made to look stupid. Thanks.

Though I don't know exactly where it's located you might be able to find it if you pull the I/P. On my '88 it realy isn't a tough job to pull/replace.

Had to look at your profile 86, hope this helps.Cavity D1 is a black ground wire going to the IP harness wire to the IP ground at the left dash at the door pillar hinge area-under carpet. Cavity D3 is a black-white stripped ground wire going to an ambient over ride sensor (about the size of a dime and 1/2 inch thick with two prongs) connected to the main wiring harness which goes thru the bulkhead and connects to the left rear of the engine. Might also help to know what your problem is

Sorry that I didn't mention year model, etc., but I posted kinda late last night. 86 Corvette completely stock except for aftermarket radio added before I purchased the car. It originally had Bose system and retains those speakers. In the beginning, there was a constant hum through the speakers with the ignition on, louder with the radio off. Then the courtesy lights became intermittent with door opening and closing and now the only time they come on is if you cut them on at the light switch. Cargo lights come on if hatch is opened or are cut on at the light switch. Then the cruise started to cut off if you touch the turn signal (changing lanes on interstate) and often would not work for several miles/ next day. That has not changed. I found that with the ignition on, and cruise switched on, when I wiggle the multifunction lever, there is a loud solenoid click coming from the cruise servo. About a month ago, went to start car and when turned the key nothing happened. After a few minutes, it started right up. The next time went to go, it wouldn't engage the starter or so much as click. A few days later, it started fine and has since. I just don't really trust it right now, so don't want to drive it anywhere. This week noticed the radio cut off and then right back on twice while ignition on. Everything in the car was working and still does, but now the car has more of a say-so than I do as to when things work! That is my problem is a nutshell. And you did indicate that you, uh, could help.
