ADS Super-Chip
Has anyone installed a ADS Super-Chip and does it improve torque-lockup time and improve performance ? I have a 1986 Vette and there is one on E-Bay with a 160 Deg, Thermostat for about $45.

I had a Thermomaster chip in my 85, got it on ebay for something like 30-40 bucks. Was worth it for the lower operating temps, doesnt do much else. It is nice for the TCC lockup changes. Moves to 42mph.

That's a good price for an ADS chip. I think I paid $75 for mine and I thought I got a deal. CompCams recommended an aftermarket chip with my 501-8 cam.
I did notice an improvement in drivabilty. It just felt crisper. I didn't notice a change in converter lockup. But maybe GM figured the problem out by 1987 and made the necessary changes to the stock chip by then.
But the price is right and I doubt if it will make your engine run worse. It's worth a chance, IMO.

Well it is on E-Bay and going for over $55. I have seen others in Mid America Designs Magazines for over $200 & Autozone for about the same. If it is worth the price, might be worth bidding on. By the way, where do you install it ? :auto:

At least Hypertech will bump the timing across the board so they give you something. But with JET you are lucky that they even do that, I have several JET chips that are nothing but bone stock calibrations with different prom ID numbers.
