she's back
the mechanic at the dealership ( they had a silver XLR in there today :conehead ) spent a few hours chasing wires and grounds trying to determine why the computer won't give any codes ,etc.,
he then phoned me and we made a deal for him to do it in his garage at home at a significantly deduced rate.
the computer issue isn't my only problem( i still say timing and/or lash) but it was a start. they only charged me $135 today, plus towing, which i made a cash deal on as well.
so it wasn't too bad yet, it just needs a good going over by someone with more fuel injection experience than myself.

I'm confused your already $135 + plus towing charges in the hole and you still don't know what's wrong with your Vette?

I like to do side work at home too. He should be able to save you some serious headache and money as well as cut through the red tape.
