Surest place is the local dealer. They will read the resistance and cut you a new key. Costs between $20-30. I've seen in a post that someone had it done at Ace Hardware. If you aren't in a hurry you can have the dealer read your code and order a key from one of the catalogues but after shipping it may be close to the same price.
Go to your local dealer. I had to get this done as well. The price difference between having the dealer measure the resistance, provide the key, and cut it (getting it done same day)... compared to going to the dealer to get the resistance measured, order mail-order, wait, pay shipping, and then pay to have it cut would have been minimal. Just go to the dealer. It will be quick and painless for probably 25 bucks or so.
Check out these links. You don't need the dealer or a fancy machine to determine the key code. All you need to determine your keycode is an ohmmeter (available at your radio shack) and a code chart that is listed in both of these links. Measure the resistor pellet with the meter and match it in the chart to determine your code. You can get the keys off ebay for about $10 or $15 straight from Ecklers and have them cut locally at your hardware store. http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/cfb-tech.htmlhttps://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=153&TopicID=2
