Have a headlight question for ya. If you turn on the headlights and one goes
up and the other goes up but the headlight itself faces down down and swings
back and forth is that a motor problem or is the light getting hung up on
something. In the process of buying a 89 coupe the owner said that hes
going to have someone look at it . He called me today and said that he
hasn't had a chance to take it to the shop but he has been trying the lights
and they have been working fine.

Re: Headlights (Biggie)
"Buyer beware", not only applies for dealerships, but especialy in buying from a private owner. Dealerships are controled by state laws in safety issues on vehicles, ie properly working headlights. A private owner does not have to devolge anything, ie salvage, flood or accident damage, ect.
I suggest you find a local Corvette expert, and pay him to inspect this Vette. If the seller is willing to have the light repaired (as he should), do not let him raise the price. Any service or repairs is expected in vehicle ownership, and should not be passed to the next owner.
This is a very common problem. 95% of the time it's bad bushing in the headlight motor. It should cost less than $10 to fix if you do it yourself.Try the SEARCH feature for full instructions. :chevy
Yes, mine were the same, at first you hear the motor running for 5-10 secs after the headlight has flipped, then when the bushings are completely disintegrated the headlight won't flip up.
The Delrin bushes are about $3 a set from Ecklers. Use the tech tip info, it's very good.
BTW to get home in the dark - I found that if the headlight is manually assisted , while the motor is running, you can fowl the headlight and it will stay up.
