Default what am I missing?

Trying to get drivers door panel of an 88. Got all screws, I'm pretty sure including the two under the doorlight. Got the manual doorlock cover off and it seems like the power lock button is holding it. can't see how to free that up. Can someone let me know what I'm missing? I don't want to break anything. Thanks, Jim :banghead:

Default Re: what am I missing? (88 ragtop vette)

There are the screws around the carpeting, those around the Bose speaker, one above the hatch release, two in the door pull area and one behind the inside handle.

You then need to pry the plastic lock housing off the lock lever.

Then you can lift the panel up off the door frame and slide if forward slightly to clear the lock lever.

Then you need to tip the panel toward you so you can open all the electrical connectors and remove the two screws holding the lock switch to the back of the panel.

Before you install the panel wrap a little A/C weather strip tape around the hard connectors to keep them from rattling.

Got the manual doorlock cover off and it seems like the power lock button is holding it.
You then need to pry the plastic lock housing off the lock lever.
The lock lever plastic piece pulls UP off of the lock lever rod and slips out. Make sure you get all of the screws in the handle area, including the one pointing up behind the handle. Then the door panel comes off exactly as 65Z01 says.
