Dana 44 removal hints?
I just picked up a 3.33:1 ring-n-pinion. As I begin preparing to remove the D-44, I'm wondering if there are any labor-saving ideas you guys might have.

Get rid of the exhaust, check tech tips for Ski's instructions. It's easy :seeya :cheers:
If you don't have the right tools to remove/install the bearings take the gear set and differential to someone who does.

I do plan on having the gears changed by a shop, I just hate to pay for removal if I can do it myself.
I've been looking for the tech posting recommended but can't find it. Any further hints?

When I changed my pumpkin, the best "tool" that I used that really helped, especially w/reinstall, was a motorcycle/atv jack. A transmission jack would probably do the same thing. Get the car up as high as possible (lifts are great) and the job is not too bad.
