Default Caliper interchange question.

Will the front calipers from a 94 w/ 12" front brakes fit my 95 w/ 13" rotors? I had heard they were the same but saw some info that put that in doubt. Thanks.

 The calipers will probably bolt on OK, but the effective braking area will be the 12", not the 13"...I think IMHO!

I would assume that the caliper and pads from the 13" system would cover the full braking area of the roter. I don't think the 12" will! IMHO

Not quite... assuming he uses the existing 13" bracket, the 12" caliper will be in the exact same place as the old 13" caliper. Both use the same pads.

The only problem is the 12" caliper has a narrower throat because it's designed for a narrower rotor. I doubt you could squeeze it over the J55 rotor unless the pads are seriously worn.

He's right, the caliper throat is 0.5 inches larger on the 13" J55set-up :iagree:
