Need Help w/ Auto Trans
94 auto trans. If I leave it in OD it works fine, but if I downshift it won't engage.If I start out in 1st or 2nd it slips and makes a noise. Any ideas? I was running it hard a couple of weeks ago(dropping down into 2nd and running up to about 5600rpm and then shifting into 3rd) and don't know if that hurt it. Fluid was changed about a year ago(10,000 miles). Thanks, Robert :banghead: :banghead:

As far as I know it's the original tranny and I don't know if it has been rebuilt. I was hoping that someone might have had the same problem and could tell me what they had to do. But I think your right about taking it in to a shop for a looksee. Robert :smash:

if its slipping and is that old then fluid isn't going to help anything, better get that thing checked out.
Only other thing is heat, I know whne my tranny gets hot can start acting funny. But I have a heavy duty rebuild with big stall, so I build up heat even with a extra cooler when doing Autocross.

It cost a few of us here on the right coast about $1500. But that came with a few goodies........stall converter.........shift kit.........extra cluthces..........kevlar composite bands.
