Could someone verify the correct TV cable route on an L98 for me? From the TB linkage connection does it cross over the intake/under the plenum right over the FP regulator and then down to the tranny? If not, how does it go?
I checked the archives and found tons on the adjustment but not on the actual route.
I got it inside, wondering exactly where it should cross over to the driver side and down to the tranny. Mine is going right over the FP regulator, is that correct or does it really matter?
Thanks. Anyone else care to check their's? On my g-bodies it routes back from the linkage, behind the distributor and then down to the tranny. With the Corvette distributor so close to the firewall I'm not sure if that is possible, but if it is then mine may be on wrong.
Just did mine. Replaced the cable with a LOKAR cable. It does in fact go down the passenger side by the distributor, and down to the tranny. Very tight fit! I attached the end of my new cable to the front end of the old cable, and pulled it through from the bottom of the car. I don't think I could have routed it that way otherwise!
OK, finally (hey, I'm not working yet so why get up "early"...lol) here's the deal on TV cable routing for my '88:
-from TB back to adjuster, in between #3 & #5 intake runner
-runs back below 9th injector tubing to rear of fuel rail
-passes under brake booster vacuum line & 9th injector fuel line
-curves to the right behind the dist to cross over the TC housing.
Sorry but it sounds like the routing is the same as on the F-body cars and not what you have now.
Actually once you have the large dist. cap removed you find that it realy isn't so close to the firewall; there's lots of "stuff" back there.
That's what I thought. Thanks for the help, now it's back to the shop, they get to take apart whatever they must and re-route it the correct way, along with putting the valve covers back on the correct sides!
Me too, I just did not have the time to do the intake myself, while in that far I had them take the VC off so I could re-paint them, which they did give me a price break on the labor since everything that is normally in the way was already off.
I just now ran it by to give them the bad news, they are going to fix it of course, just the hassle you know.
Thanks again for your help, the support here is awesome!
