SuperRam first impressions
All I can say is....
HOLY CRAP!!!!! Damn this thing pulls! Dropping it from 40 mph is a whole new experience. There's still more power to be had because I haven't attempted any sort of fine tuning yet. Tomorrow I will adjust the TPS, and if there's time I'll do some data logging with a lap top. All I've done so far was bump up the fuel pressure a few psi. The install sucked every bit as much as I had heard it would. And then some. One thing I noticed is the throttle won't fully open now. Only about 90%. I wonder if the bracket mounts in the same place on the SR as the stocker did. I also discovered something that completely shocked me. I am now getting 3-4 mpg BETTER on the highway than I did before. WTF?! I never saw that one coming. For everyone that chimed in on my posts concerning my install problems, I want to thank you. The fun is just beginning. The car runs great now, and will soon be running even better once I start tweaking. If it's not raining tomorrow night I'll take it to the track and get some runs in to see where it stands. Updates will follow shortly. Thanks again.

Re: SuperRam first impressions (86Moon)
  But haow are ya gonna quarter without full throttle?
I need to check the TPS voltage in the morning. If it's showing WOT, I should be fine. I don't see any way to adjust the throttle plates. The TV cable is what's holding it back. If I give it enough slack to allow the throttle blades to open, the adjuster sits about 6-7 clicks out. It needs to be 3 clicks out for proper shifting.
The car is an '86 with an automatic and 3.07 gears.
JJ86, I will be running at Ozark International Raceway in Rogersville, about a 15 minute drive from Spfd.

If the TV cable is too far back and preventing the throttle blades from opening, it is not set right. If you need it in this position to shift, you might have transmission problems that you are covering-up.
Yes, the super ram really makes the torque output of the L98 that much more pronounced. :D cool feeling eh?
I had an argument with a guy I work with yesterday....He was saying how sappy the new cars feel torquewise(he included my car). I'm almost at 500 foot pounds with a "Seasoned" motor. He has this big bad 60's gto with a 400 he was bragging about. I told him any time he wants to run his "torquey" GTO, bring it! I said I have the timeslips to prove I had plenty of torque, not much came out of his mouth after that :D Love it!
enjoy your new super ram. there are lots of us who have them and love them. John Lingenfelter designed one hellovan intake!

Re: SuperRam first impressions (JJ 86)
Do they run on straight up or just bracket racing on saturday's? Are you running the same setup as AS84?
Haha! I'm not running the same setup as Aaron since this is his SuperRam. He's working on something different now. Setups are close though. Main difference is camshaft. He's running the LPE 219, while I'm running a TPIS piece. Mine has a little more duration, but a little less lift.
Heads-up or bracket depends on which weekend. Tonight is bracket :nonod:

:lolg: Jay, I owned a 69 Judge in the mid 70's, it was pretty impressive, goin' straight ;) I'll take my SR'd Vette with the technalogical advances any day, and I doubt there was a 12 sec run in that Judge :lolg:
With all the bolt ons I have, would I get much more out of a Super Ram than I do now with my Lingenfelter base,ASM runners, ported plenum and 52 mil tb? Anybody here gone from my current set up to the Super Ram? Is it worth the trouble and money to change? In other words, did you feel that much of a difference? Thanks

Re: SuperRam first impressions (james holley)
If you were to compare side by side the SR upper vs. your large tube runners, your question will be answered. Whether it's worth the time or money is up to you. But you will definitely gain by going to the full SuperRam.
