Default Low temp fan switches

I see on the corvette mall there is a kit to lower the cut in temp on the fan. I'm working on an 89 with dual fans, (one puller, one pusher) does this switch replace the main switch (the one that goes to the computer also) or the secondary switch on the left side of the block and if it replaces the main is there also a secondary fan switch to be used in conjuction with the main switch.
Second, is it recommended to switch to a lower temp. thermostat when installing this kit??

It replaces the aux fan switch on side of block. You can wire the relays together so you main fan comes on at the same time.
I would install a thermostat to match the new temp switch.

I installed the on 200 off 185, I only replaced the switch on the block and ran both the wires from the switch to the relay on the wheel well in front of the battery-this causes both fans to come on and off at the same time, otherwise the aux fan, in front of the radiator with the relay located up by the radiator drivers side can be used-the purpose was to have the aux fan come on about 10 degrees higher than the main fan-I like having them both come on and off at the same time.

Incidentally I cleanded the leaves etc. out of the front of the radiator, installed a 180 thermostat, now the temp barely reaches 200. Of course it hasn't got over 82 in Seattle :D

The ECM only controls only the main fan behind the radiator; the aux fan switch (in the block below #1 & #3 plugs) only controls only the aux fan in front of the radiator.

I sugget you install a 160 deg T-stat and get the matching HyperTech aux fan switch from Summit racing. I have a C4 Tech Tip on how to wire the aux fan switch to bring on both fans.

Cleaning debris from the front of the radiator is a very good idea too. Wear some thin leather gloves to reach in and pick out leaves though, those radiator fins are very sharp.

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Aux fan should rarely come on and with extended idling, having both fans on and all of your accessories running can overtax the alternator. When that happens, the fans will slow down and coolant temps will rise (regardless of what temp thermostat you put in it). If it's all ready coming on a lot, you may want to investigate other cooling components first making sure the radiator is in good shape and there no internal or external blockage.
