any codes?

a few things to check:

1) The coil and coil wire. The coil wire has a tendency to chaif... bad news.

2) Fuel pressure. Get a FP gauge from Autozone/Advance Auto for about $35.00... worth it. Pressures should be in the 38~40.

I am thinking the fuel pump is failing. When the Opti goes, it starts as a waivering idle and a high RPM miss.

In either case, you are getting close to the mileage for a major maintence interval... Optispark, waterpump, wires, plugs & fuel pump...

A couple of suggestions:

1) There are a number of alternatives to the Opti... they are more expensive, but they are nice.... LTCC, DynoTech Dynospark or the DelTeq system.

2) Get NGK plugs. They rock!

3) Taylor wires are great!!!!! So are Magnacore.

I hope this helps!
