Does the 85 corvette ecm have a rev limiter and if it does what is it set for............I seem to be hitting a wall at 5900 rpm or so........super ram with procharger .......brand new engine .......no tune........just woundering were to start looking.
Re: Does an 85 ecm have a rev limiter? (lead foot 85 vet)
I was told that they do not. What kind of chip do you have? COuld be set in the chip.
I have a similar problem with my 91 but it happens at around 6600rpm. I replaced the distributor with a DUI unit and I got a little more RPMs out of it but it is still there. I have gotten it to rev to 7000rpm a few times but it rarely gets up there without cutting out first.
What kind of distributor do you have? It could be just the stock HEI dying out.
stock chip............stock distrbutor and coil........with a MSD 6A...............its in a very rough state of tune just wanted to rule the ecm out.........thanks for the help guys. :yesnod:
They don't have a Rev limiter, but the stock eprom has a Fuel Cutoff programmed at 12,500rpms..
You don't consider a fuel cutoff a rev limiter? The short answer is "yes it has one" the long answer is "it isn't set at a level to be overly effective in the stock setup."

I think what he is saying is that the "ECM" doesn't have one but the "Chip" itself does.
