I thought that it might be the belt or the tensioner. I replaced both. (By the way, that is a PIA with the z52 handling option on an 88 because the bolt doesn't clear.) Anyway, those parts did not solve the problem. Any ideas? I can't really take one item out at a time.

My '88 has a "Chirp" type sound at shift point, when 'Get on It'.
I never asked anyone about it, but if the trans goes, I'll just get a new one [120K miles] its the original.

Are you guys sure it is coming from the transmission? I had the same issue with my 90, short chirp when I shifted fast and hard. It started right after removing Mr. Frisbee, I wonder of those things really had a purpose.
