Electric supercharger??
Several months ago, there was a thread about a member building an electric supercharger. That thread grew long and intense....
Anyone know how this project is coming? ...Or is it a dead issue?

Re: Electric supercharger?? (rocco16)
FYI...................
These (link below) are the most common "elctric superchargers" or "turbos". Those are actually plumbing vent pumps. They are often used in boat engine compartments to vent any fuel fumes before attempting to start the engine. They are worthless as a power adder. Here is an example.

A good way to tell a product like this is a scam is if the the site doesnt sell anything else.
Here is its original application. You can also do a search on Bilge Fans.

Re: Electric supercharger?? (TheStef)
If I remember right, he proposed installing an extra battery, and some other paraphernalia that it seemed to me would really clutter up the engine bay and amount to a lot of added weight. Not slamming the idea, just seemed like a lot of overhead for minimal boost.

Hmm on a side note I wonder how noisy this blower is. it would be nice to fab something for inside the cabin to circulate more air.

You might be on to something, although a Vette has much more circulation that a boat. The serious performance boat guys are saying they can get much more power (75 hp?)by keeping cool air flowing through the engine compartment on some of the higher performance engines.

Re: Electric supercharger?? (Chevy Guy)
HAHA if you look at the web site for the electric supercharger is shows there 928 race car. Well when that picture was taken the car was getting lapped and they are trying to make it look like it was in 2nd. That is Phil McClure coming up behind him in the Corvette and I can guarentee that 928 will not run with that C5 or any of those Audi or BMW's.
