You know thats a very good question. Yes you can do that. In the G7 ECU set up screen you can define the ignition inputs there. I do like the WBO2 system that Accel offers but I think they should drop the price. It does use a NTK sensor that is not unlike the sensor that my Horiba uses. They tell me that its equal to my Horiba sensor, and I can say that its accuracy is on par when I have the systems side by side sampling the same exhaust pipe.
Tom.......Mac at fasttrackperformance told me that the innovate wideband o2 senser would work with the gen 7 and save some bucks over what accel is charging for the o2 option.
The innovative system will work and the accel system will work, but they will not work TOGTHER. The whole point of having the wideband O2 system integrated into the computer is so that it can adjust fuel on the fly, innovative won't do that, it's only good for the initial tune. I've talked to several people that have had their engines saved because their wideband O2 compensated for a fuel pump going out or an injector not keeping up to speed. And the fact that its just alot nicer to deal with one system.
Oh, and just to let you know, I've tried the Innovative system with my accel. The wideband box was faulty when I got it so I used that as an innitial tuning device. It's hard to do a run and then compare the datalogging from the accel to the datalogging from the innovative system.
I hear you I have both also.............but I talked to him yesterday and he said you could intagrate the innovative system into the gen 7 system with a wire harness and it would work just like the gen 7 WB02....if it soesn't work automaticly with the gen 7 fuel air correction system then there's no point in using it...............just passing information............maybe if your interested......give him a call.......888-640-3278
what was wrong with your innovate wide band? and I hear you on tuning on the fly......I don't have time to look at all the gadges .........at least at WOT
The Innovate system will work with the DFI system. The Innovate has 2 programmable analog outputs. All that needs to be done is to calibrate the Innovate system so that it meets the requirements of the DFI system. The DFI system will accept the signal as it doesn't care what the source is and as long as its calibrated to what the DFI needs for a signal it will be just as accurate as the DFI wide band system. The best part is that its more than half the cost of the DFI WBO2 As soon as I get my hands on a DFI system I will try to interface one of my Innovate systems to the DFI ECU.
You got mail. Plus I have a bit of news for all you DFI GEN7 owners that want a WBO2 sytem but can't seem to justify the Accel WBO2 systems healthy price tag. I have sucessfully integrated the Innovate WBO2 system to the GEN7 systems I am finalizing my calibration curve tonight and I will begin sourcing cabling to make the installation a piece of cake. So that means for a bit more than $350 you can have a functional WBO2 integrated into your GEN7 DFI system to be able to tune on the fly and make corrections. Then once tuning is done the sytem can be returned back to a narrow band system.
Tom,
I may need to buy a Gen VII+ key, ever since my move to Atlanta, can't seem to find anything. How much are those things going for these days?
Chris

Hey TJWONG, I am interested in using an LM-1 with my Gen 7 DFI set up. I talked to MAC yesterday, and he said he makes a harness to connect the LM-1 to the DFI harness. He said he sells the harness with the LM-1 for $350. What did you have to do exactly to get this WBO2 to work with your Gen 7?
Basically I fed a signal into the GEN 7 system after defining its usage with a linear O2 sensor. I figured out what the curve was that the G7 system was expecting to see from the WBO2 box. I also got the information from Mac as well, and for what he is selling the Innovate for is a good deal. I don't have the harnesses made up yet to make the connections to the G7 system. I am awaiting my connectors. Basically all the harness consists of is the mating connector to the G7 O2 connector, and a analog output cable for the LM1 which is just a 1/8" stereo headphone cable with a phono plug on the end just like what is used on your walkman. I just don't have the O2 sensor connectors at this time.
Mac and I have some disagreement on what values to use in the programming of the LM1. He told me that his engineer figured it out and gives a voltage spread of about 2.30 volts. I simulated a signal to the G7 O2 input with a special instrument calibration simulation tool. I found that the G7 wants to see a input voltage of 1 to 5 volts, which equals to 10.08 to 19.18 AFR. So what Mac has sent me and what I seen in the G7 systems don't match.
The only discrepency is perhaps how they set up the internal programming of the G7 ECU. With my calculations I set it up for a linear type 2 sensor. I had no way of using a live test on an engine to test what I found to compare what is displayed on the LM1 vs the G7 dashboard. But I feel 99.99% sure that what I found will be accurate and will work. I had over 50 datapoints to plot the curve by and it was definitely repeatable as well.
