Default Could someone read a '93 Chip for me??

I've got an Ed Wright chip that I would like to find out exactly whats on it. Basically the VE table and timing tables. Could I send my chip to someone to have them read it? Would I need to send the origional chip with? If anybody can help please let me know.

I can read it for you, but if you want to compare that to the stock one, I would need both. Then, how would I show you the difference? I could print out some of the tables, like the VE tables. What exactly are you after?

I'm looking for the VE and Timing tables that are on the chip. I don't really need the stock stuff but the stock chip pluggs into this chip then into the ECM, I didn't know what I needed to send.

Here's exactly what I'm after. I just got an Accel Gen7 for tuning but I'm not sure what/how I should be turning for partial throttle cruising and such. I want to know what my old chip had programmed into it and then I can compare and see how far off my tune is now from what it was.

I don't know if the format is transferable from a "stock/modified" chip to the fast system. I thought that the FAST stuff had "base" settings for some setups to get you started. TJWONG or others could probably help with the tuning part. I can read your chips, but I don't know if that will help you. I'll send you my address, and you make the call. Good luck!

The stuff won't convert over just file to file, but if I can read the tables then I can type them in manually. I'm probably missing alot of timing in my cruising speeds, my gasmileage is suffering severly. The chip got sent out today so you should see it monday or tuesday. Thanks tons!

I think you'll find that the ed wright chips have some kind of encryption that makes them difficult to read.. not like stock or other turner ECM/PCM's..

I've just heard.. this is not absolute. Please have someone else verify this information - I recall hearing this before.

Blubyu, you are very correct. A lot of tuners, including Ed and JET will encrypt their chips and PCMs. Right now LS1 edit pro tuners have the ability to encrypt their tunes via a hardware key. But whats funny about this is that the locking mechanism is in their hardware key and not actually in the code. So when other tuning software comes around their code will be available to anyone. It is still extracted as a raw binary file from the PCM and I know of at least two software guys that are coming out with new tuning software for the flash OBD2 PCMs that will save as BIN files that are not encrypted.

I can hack most encrypted chips I know I am a bad boy but hey you paid for the chip whats in it should be yours, thats the way I see it. Venom if you have trouble reading the prom send me the file and I wil "declassify" it for you
