I'm looking into pepping up my valvle train a little bit guys. I need your opinions on roller rockers, pushrods, and valve springs along with anything else you think might be worth my energy. I want something thats going to support a 2.75" exhaust back with hooker headers. I eventually want to put a procharger on it. I'm looking for strength and reliability with my performance. Safety first because shes my daily driver. :chevy
Re: need info and knowledge on lt1 heads.. (I Hate Rice)
IMO Comp Cams can supply you with all the goodies that you will be needing. They have some new beehive style springs that can handle .600+ lift and titanium retainers to match. Also they can supply you with a set of Pro Magnum roller rockers and their nice one peice chrome moly push rods. Now all you have to do is to decide who is going to port your heads to realize the real benefits from your engine :) And if you are going that far you may as well do a cam as well. Figure out what your target is and what kinds of mods you are going to want, that will determine what kind of cam you should have.
Re: need info and knowledge on lt1 heads.. (tjwong)
Any ideas where I should buy the parts from? I'm looking around summitracing.com but I'm becomming overwhelmed with information and I'm not sure if some of the parts will fit. As far as the valve springs go, I don't think they carry them for the lt1. I did find the rockers though....sweet sweet rockers. :yesnod:
Re: need info and knowledge on lt1 heads.. (I Hate Rice)
Comp Cams sells numerous double springs for our LT1's. When I had heads/cam done I was using the the 986-16's... with the 383 I am going with the 977-16's, as they are a little bigger/stiffer and handle lift up to .700" or so.
