I have 335/35/17, 285/40/17's on my GS. I lowered the front w/ the poly wedges and only put one of the two aluminum shims that are on the stock spring to achieve a more aggressive look. Absolutely/positively do the front first beacuse it is the biggest PITA. You have to get the front end up as high as you possibly can because that spring will bow like a MF. I would do it all over again though, great time to do some major cleaning and polishing.
The rear is a piece a cake. I lowered the rear as far as I could w/ the lowering bolts and even took out the safety pin and lowered it beyond that, I did end up putting some wheel spacers on it due to bottoming out w/ a passenger every now and then but I have some pretty big shoes out back. I will send you a pic as soon as I get to the house. The look is simply fantastic :smiliedrool:
I never did any before measurements to know how much I lowered it, but the nuts are as low as they can go on the standard lengthened bolt that comes with a lowering kit. My 315's stick out past the fender lip, and I haven't had any issues with rubbing yet (and I've driven on some pretty crappy pot-holed roads). Pic in my sig.
