The AFR heads have a 12 week leave time so it will be a while before this beast is ready but I am looking for big #s when it's all said and done :D

Rings: Be sure to get a standard tension oil ring set. Some may try to talk you into a low tension set, claiming more power due to less drag. This is true but they'll burn oil are are meant for drag-only engines.
Even then, I opt not to use them; they introduce just too much inconsistency in times over the course of a season.
I recommend .005 overs too, and file fit them to each bore. Good move!
I'm not familiar with your cam choice, but any cam with an advertised duration at 300 or more makes the hairs on my arm stand straight up.
Be sure to get the correct lifters for the cam if you're going small base circle.

The 306 is a common cam with the f-body folks and is some what streetable with a std LT1 350. I talked to a lot of people including Comp and feel with the added displacment it will be streetable Here are the #s from Comp
Advertised duration In. 290 EX. 307 @.050 230/244 Lift .510/.540 LS 112
That cam should sound pretty good. I was told to stay less then 230 duration, even for a 383. I was considering a Hotcam or 305. Now that I've got it together, I'm glad I didn't go any smaller. Neither the Hotcam or 305 would have made me happy. The cam I selected (see my sig) is just under the 306. I think it was #503. I could have gone bigger with the 383. I think my cam would sound good in a 350.
Oh, and I think you are the guy that sent me a clutch a while back. Thanks. It helped get me by while I resolved my flywheel balancing and clutch issues.
