Anyone know where the light switch is that turns the lights on the hood for the enging compartment on? I need to kill them when I am working on the engine so the battery doesn't die. 92 convertible.
Other than the mecury switch in the light housing, I don't know of a switch to kill the lights, althought there are those on this forum who have put one inline. I just unplug the weather pac connector at the bottom of the hood.
There's no switch unless you intall them..follow the wires all the way down and you'll find a plug harness down by vaccume canister area on drivers side and near coolant overflow tank on passenger side..you know down by where headlights go when hoods is down...just unplug them. :yesnod:
I too need to turn off my underhood lights when working under there or when at the drag strip.
For convenience I purchased the "swith kit" from MAM (or was it Eckler's) for the convenience of having the connectors, the switch, the wire and the black spiral wrap all in one convenient package. Once installed it's very stealth and isn't noticible unless you know where to look for the switch.
