you are right larry, i see in the second pic that there are two bushings with that kit. those are what i need. and i'll be in good shape. again i'll call qa1 thanks guys.
Are you sure you don't have one of those bushings already? I had the same problem with my rear shocks. Mine had a metal bushing, but it was just not long enough to secure the shock when I tightened the factory nut on the mount. My solution was to put a washer on either side so that the bottom of the shock would be compressed by the stock nut. Just be careful not to get washers with too big an OD as they will then hit the shock. Look for sothething with 5/8" ID, 1 1/4"-1 3/8" OD and 1/8"-3/16" in thickeness. You will need 4 such washers, one on either side of the shock. I can try to take some pics this weekend if anybody wants to see what I did.
thanks to all. today after my last post the sleeves came in. thank God. after numerous calls to qa1 and jegs. i can highly recommend these shocks to anyone wanting a good piece, but go ahead and call it in and make sure they send you both sleeves, cause it takes an act of congress to get em. i threatened lawsuits already, i mean 5 or 600 for shocks, they should install themselves, but they are nice. so here's a heads up to anyone wanting them. go ahead and get em, but tell them to send the sleeves too. you'll need em. now all i gotta do is remove my duct tape and find some washers. oh joy. lol thanks for all the help fellas. you guys are great.
Did anyone have any problem with the front install? I just did the fronts and the A-arms fall about 2 inches lower than with the stock Bilstiens?
Did I do something different than everyone else, my part number matched those list in this thread. I actuall sent an email to QA1 and they listed the proper parts.

I didn't, but I also never measured before/after. If you have them set to 0 they have pretty much no resistence so the a-arms will drop pretty quick compared to the Bilstiens. That is problably what you noticed.
The difference is enough that where the car is sitting on the jack stands after removing the wheels, then doing the replacement, now the car will need to be lifted at least 2-3" higher to put the wheel back on????
I think I set the shocks to +4 when I installed.
If all people did was unbolt the old and bolt in the new I assume it will work out. Maybe after the wheels are on and the weight of the car compresses the shock to normal position it will be a little more normal?
if you bought the HAL 4558's they are 2 inches shorter than the stock shocks. however with the shock to a frame ratio you have enough to raise the car to stock height... are you using coil overs or just the shocks?
