I pulled off my ac compressor and moved it over to gain more access to opti. Some remove best tensioner. It is a pain, especially if you have big hands.

"The best way I've found to do the wires on the driver's side is to remove the wheel and inner fender panel, unbolt the ASR and set it aside (you're part of the way there when you remove the fender panel), remove the serpentine belt, remove the idler pulley (easy, one bolt), then unbolt the power steering pump from the accessory bracket so you can push it forward enough to snake the wires between it and the bracket down near the opti. This sounds like a lot, but if you remove this stuff right at the beginning, you'll save yourself a lot of cut hands and swearing.

When I changed wires and plugs on my 92, I removed the fender panels to get to the plugs but it really isn't necessary for just wires.
I did pull the alternator as I was cleaning up around the front of the motor in the process, unbolted the A/C compressor and moved it forward and out of the way. I also unbolted the P/S pump (4 bolts) and it moved forward about 3 inches. At that point, the driver's side of the Opti was easy to see and get to. There is a small bracket under the A/C comprssor that keeps the wires from moving and I pulled that off too.
As I was going to MSD 8.5mm SuperConductor wires, I had to remove the wire looms on the sides of the cylinder heads and ream out the holes in the plastic retainers.
You need to use some dielectric grease on the insides of the plug wire boots at both ends. They push on the Opti much easier and provides a good watertight seal. The coil wire is easier to replace than it looks. Pull the wire from the coil first and thread it back to where it goes down to the cap. Twist the wire and pull and it should come right off. Coat the boot with the grease and push it back down on the cap and it will snap into place.

Also, when snapping the wire terminals onto the optispark, you want to hear/feel it go CLICK two times. It will click onto the opti's electrode once, then you need to push more until it clicks the 2nd and final time for it to be properly secure. Same with coil wire where it attaches to the opti...
