Hp Levels
My 1st Vette. I just built a 383 stroker. Scat H-beam rods,Scat crank, Je blower pistons, 2stage heads, MSD ignition, TPIS headers and TB, ZZ409 cam and spring kit, Ed Wright chip, 3.73 gears, 3in dual flows w/o cats. I am thinking of throwing an Intercooled ATI D1 procharger on it this winter. I am planning on running 16psi since I had the pistons custom ordered at 9.5. What do you think I can put to the wheels if the 700r4 does not crater the moment I step on the throttle...? I figure I am pushing at least 400 to the crank now if not more, I have not put it on a dyno yet. ATI advertises around a 80-90% gain with 15-16 PSI, so I should be around 700 shouldnt I? Oh yeah, this will be my first SC also. Any advise would be welcomed.

I have a dyno graph of a 383 with cnc ported stock heads,9.0 cr, 24lb injectors, 6.1 fmu, gm cam p/n 12370847 and 10# Vortech that made 552 rwhp. That is roughly 634 fwhp. So with 16#s you should be in the 600+ rwhp area. Unless you address the belt slip problem you are going to have with a torquey 383 and high boost, you won't see that number. Plus it will be hard to tune with it slipping. Guys with your combo in the blower section are having to go with expensive cogged belt setups. TJwong can help you there. I will be up in Hurst this weekend for a wedding.
