Default Coolant sensor bad, but which one?

The check engine light comes on because the coolant sensor is bad. The digital guage just stays at 142 but the analog guage works fine. The digital guage will sometimes start to work again when the car warms up and the check engine light will go off. I know that there are two or three sensors, so anybody have this problem before and can tell me which one it is.

Not sure about LT1 but on L98 the coolant temp sensor used by the ECM is located in the intake base under the TB.

On the 92 there are two sensors. The one on the passenger side head has the sole purpose of running the analog guage. The one on the front of the water pump is what the ECM reads and what is displayed on the digital readout.
