Default Hooker 2149 fitment problem

I got the drivers side on earlier this evening and ran into a problem. The flange where the Y-pipe connects is touching the floor of the car. It actually scuffed the floorpan when the header was snugged tight. Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks

Mine touches. Hasn't been a problem so far. I did remove the heat shield that is rught there because it was rattling at certain RPMs.

That's a relief. I had visions of my car going up like a roman candle. Thanks for the reply

I got a large prybar and made some room....its real tight there, you will feel heat and vibration in the floor. Thats why I made it work with the shield on.

I installed Hedman hedders on mine. I experienced absolutely no fitment issues whatsoever. Earlier this evening I went to snug up the hedder bolts and they were all still tight. I don't see why Hedman get such a bad wrap on this forum and Hookers get all the praise.

I had the same problem.

I removed the metal heat shield. cut a hole in the fibreglass an fixed a metal soup bowl type thing inside the footwell to cover the hole, This gave me about 1/2 " clearance. (I actually used an end cover from an old electrical transformer)

With the carpet back in place it is undetectable, no problems.
