I installed these injectors in my "90" and now I have this anoying ticking sound.almost like a broken lifter. I can feel the pulses from the AFPR and rail. When I installed these injectors, I couldn't use the retainer clips. These injectors are supposed to be more quiet than the OEM's. Are they binding and resonating??Also, the engine cranks over a dozen times before it starts now.
Any ideas?
Why couldn't you use the clips? I use them on mine. Unless you have changed the injector constant or adjusted your fuel pressure accordingly your car is going to be rich.
A Ford 24# injector is like a GM 26.5# injector. You have to correct the ECM or adjust the FP.
I actually had a friend put them in for me and he said the clips wouldn't fit on to the Ford injectors. I can't adjust the pressure lower than 46lbs with out vacuum. Any suggestions? How low should the pressure be with these injectors?
I have the FMS 'BlueTops' in my 91.
The clips DID fit. A PITA but I got them back on there.
The engine ran fine with no changes but I have since adjusted the Injector constant in the MemCal.
Couldn't tell much change other than my INT & BLM's were closer to 128.
