Shifter **** Replacement
Hello all...Avid forum reader here, just never posted a new topic...until now
Perhaps I'm overlooking the obvious, but how is the shifter **** removed? I'm in the process of trying to replace a worn **** and boot and have been struggling with it for way too long!

Should be the same as my 91. Move the shifter to neutral. Use a small flat blade screwdriver tp pry the button out. You'll see a ring holding the **** on the shaft. Use a pair of snap ring pliers to remove the ring. Note: hold your hand over the **** when removing the snap ring. This will prevent the snap ring from flying off to God knows where. Pull up sharply on the **** and it should pop off. If not, it might need a little persuasion.
