Found a nut and need help
I pulled "hard" into my driveway and a clanking noise started. I thought it was the flywheel/torque converter cover hitting the flywheel because I just shimmed the starter. When I removed the cover a nut was resting inside it.
It is now oval in shape and chewed up from the flywheel, but appears to be a 1/4 20 or 5/16 20 nut, coarse thread.
I looked pretty well in the surrounding area and see no missing nuts. Any thoughts? I'll be outside under the car.
