Default Injector pricing

May have to buy new injectors. Just curious, found a site that is selling brand new GM/Bosch 25lb/hr @3bar for $99.00 +$ 11.95 s&h.

I. is this a decent price (price is for all 8 injectors)

2. are these injectors ok to use in a stock `87.

they are not flow matched.

Thanks

That sounds way too cheap. Are you sure that is for all 8? If they say it is somthing fishy is going on...

Yep for all 8 it says while they last. I don`t know if we are allowed to talk about other sale sites if they are not listed on the vendors area on the left.

I think you are refering the bosch LS1 take out units from SLP. If that is so, then those injectors will work fine in your car. They are rated at 28 lb at 400kPA rail pressures, at 400kPA which is what yours is, they will be derated to about 25 lb/hr. Your 87 will run but will run on the rich side. Because your original injectors were rated at either 19 or 22 lb/hr, the worse case scenario is that you would have to have a chip burned for the new injectors.

Thanks; that is exactly the advice I was looking for

It sounds like a great deal for the injectors. I`ll be ordering them in 5 mins.

Default Bosch injectors

The local autozone had a set of Bosch injectors for my '85, price was $84.99. I've always though Bosch was a good name, anyone use these?

haven't checked the website yet... i'm on my way there now, but the part number is: 0280150223. The guy at the counter told me this was a set of 8 injectors and all the seals i would need. I guess i'll go to the website now and find out if he was lying or not.

I have those injectors from SLP in my 87. Nice parts but my car is way too rich at low rpm. I have a ski chip and its still rich. I just sent it back to him so he can lean it out. I think these flow more than SLP says or ski would have gotten the chip a lot closer the first time. Just my .02

In case you're interested...I thought I neede injectors because my '89 L98 wouldn't start instantly if it sat overnight. Bought new ones, problem was still there. Wound up that a "kill switch" the former owner had installed was going bad. When it finally quit and I removed the switch, the car started perfect everytime. Lesson learned, injectors were fine. If you're interested you can have the injectors I took out for $50 plus shipping.

I called SLP about the injectors today. Their engineer has them in his l98 `88 Trans Am. He said they fit a little loose (up & down), but that they are no problem & will not leak. He said they will work fine. we`ll see. I kept my order in

Boy they have fast delivery! They came today . I don`t know how they will work, but they look brand new & do not smell like gas or anything, so I don`t think they are used take-offs (could be though)
they even have -O- rings on them.
