Anyone know what kind of power will be added if I remove the smog crap on my 87? Only have to smog once on transfer. I hear it depends on the car? Any comments will be greatly appreciated!

If you removed ALL the smog stuff, then I assume you mean, the AIR Tubes/Pump, as well as the Catalytic Converter. I would imagine prolly 10rwhp from all that.

Removing the cat makes sense.Removing all the other stuff doesn't seem to be worth the effort, imo. My 87 has all the emissions stuff in place, except cat,and has given me no problems. If you are looking to clean up the appearance of the engine bay, removing parts will help that. My advise is don't do it. Just my $.02

Something to think about, Is removing all the smog junk worth the little increase of HP?IMHO, no, not knowing the future of California's smog laws. Although you live in an area that only has to pass smog at the time of a transfer of title, who knows where the future will take us. I think you can increase HP with just opening up the intake and exhaust enough to make a difference. And if you ever change the area where you live, like to a metro area the pain in the a$$ it will be to re install all the smog just doesn't make this a worhtwhile effort. I personaly would even leave the Cat alone, as long as it is tuned well, your 87 C-4 will bring many a smile to your face and many miles of fun.

299 should be a blast after the tourist leave.
