For those that know scorp please redirect him here ......thanks

I just talked to Mike Meek after directly talking to Ease Diagnostics. I was reading one of the threads you responded to in the scan and tune section which I can't find now hence why I posted this.

Just to let you know, mentioned you have 2.5 and was going to 3.0, well I just found it they have released 3.2 and a final rev of 3.2.1 for the 2007 CAN standard for the setups for future vehicles. The only issue is the hardware won't be ready for another 2-3 weeks. From what I understand the FSI12-INT is compatible with the 3.2 software but won't support the CAN standard. But if you wait, then the new hardware will support it all for the future standards and you'd be set for the next 15 years.......LOL.

Just thought you should know before you spend double money if that is at all important to you. Personally I'm waiting for the new hardware to be released for the CAN standards.

Regards,
Chris

Hey thanks! (This is scorp)

The reason I was going to go with 3.0 is only if it supports the Commanded AFR field. The personal version I have now doesn't, but supposedly the pro version does. Mike was supposed to let me know if the personal v3.0 supported this, but I haven't heard from him. I'm not in a big rush, but hope to need itbefore the end of the year. I want to alter my ECM code to accept the output of a wideband O2 sensor setup.

Have you considered upgrading to the pro version? The power train and chassis input is really helpful.

This your new SN? I'm confused

I want to alter my ECM code to accept the output of a wideband O2 sensor setup.
I'm hoping to do this with my ZR-1 also someday..
Im still looking for ECM schematics and code!

Im still having problems with EASE, I can't get this thing to connect to and ECM for more than a couple seconds..

On the same PC and vehicle I use my freebie version of Datamaster and all works fine.. I want to get this EASE working someday!

I contacted EASE a few months ago about this and they made a patch to make the commanded air fuel ratio work. They call it TAV (total airfuel value). I presently run while monitoring my air/fuel ratio in this field using a modified 165 bin. I have to divide what I see by 6553.6 to get the air/fuel ratio. It does work.
They posted this patch on their web site under the updates section. The file name is GM1_ADD_FUELAIRT.EDB.
I hope this helps.

My 87 has no way of communicating that stuff to a scan tool.

Another electronics question for you Scorp. I want to buy a GPS device to hide in my car and track it if stolen. Besides going with something like Lojack, can I do something like this myself? How, and how much?

The only other way I see to do this would probably cost more than Lojack in the long run. You'd need a small computer, an DC to AC convertor, a cellular modem, an ISP for the modem, a handheld GPS unit connected to the computer.

The computer would have to be setup in such a way that it would power on with engine ignition and then automatically dialup to the internet. Then you'd want it to automatically email you the IP it got from the ISP. At that point you could remotely connect and get the GPS info.
