It is just simply an LT4 knock module. The LT4's engine was a bit noisier than the LT1, because of the roller rockers. So, GM put a less sensitive knock module in the LT4. If you are not experiencing an false knock, you won't get any performance increase. Many who upgrade their LT1's rockers to roller rockers install the LT4 k/m to stop false knock/spark retard.
FYI: You can buy this module from Superior Chevrolet for a little over $30. Mid America just marks up the price and misleads consumers on it's purpose. Making some think they will get LT4 performance from their LT1, just by installing this module.

I had one in my previous 96 LT1 Vette... Before buying the module, I did some data logging to compare to after installation and I did notice that while I didn't have a lot of false spark knock in the first place, it did consistently take 1deg less of spark retard out through the upper RPM band...
I was stock, so I didn't benefit much... But for $35 it wasn't a total loss... I bought the module in anticipation of adding roller rockers later on, which I never got around to doing anyway...
For what it's worth, the descriptor is inaccurate; it is for 94-96 Vettes only. Won't work on a 93 (at least that's what they told me when I ordered one).

And that is due to the 93 and older using ECM computers instead of the PCM. It seems there are several things that hit the market in 93 such as pcm's and electronic transmissions that the corvette did not get until the following year (94). When I see these mistakes made in catalogs such as mid america, it tells me how much they really know about the car they claim to specialize in.
