Default Question regarding injector removal and storage

I thought I read here a few months back that once removed, injectors need to be stored a particular way otherwise they could be damaged. Was it something about capping them or sealing them? I'm thinking of picking up a spare set to have rebuilt but I don't want to buy a set that might be junk because they were removed or stored improperly. Normally, I'd check the archives first but they're still in the process of migrating them. TIA..

Well, "rebuild" isn't exactly an accurate description, more like testing and cleaning. Anyway, everybody here seems to like this guy:

If you pull them from a working engine and don't get the residual gas out of them it is possible the gunk from the evaporating gas would not be good for them, but the amount is so small I don't really think it would matter. Now if small bugs crawl in the fuel entry end and make a nest in them while in storage, that would be less than optimal. I have my original 22# uits that I had rebuilt by Rich in storage and will install them probably next spring. I've still got them in the sealed plastic bags he used to ship them to me, which I have in a closed cardboard box. Other than that I'm not taking any special precautions.
