700r4 Shift Gate Question.......
Hey guys, just wondering if anybody could give me a little bit of info on how the shifter for the 700r4 auto in our Vettes is put together. The reason I am wondering is because mine seems to have alot of side to side play as well as a little bit of front to back play when it is in gear. Just wondering if there is a way to tighten this back up via some loose screws, or is it non adjustable. That way I know I won't be wasting my time ripping this thing apart

The fore/aft play could be due to gate notches and/or linkage adjustment.
The side to side may be due to the shifter mount being lose.
