I'm maxing out my p600b supercharger with the 12 pis pulley and I'm wondering if anybody out there knows what the max CFM is for the two core single ati intercooler........it's problably an belt slip issue........with my super breathing 383 I'm only seeing 4 psi..........an no belt dust. may be it's taking all the air I can give it.....the p600b flows 1200 CFM with the small pulley in a perfect world
Pro charger says that their LT1 IC is only good up to 550Hp or thereabouts. I know Shalin has got 560 at the rear wheels with his setup but I can't tell you what the intake temperatures were at that level.
OK .dam it...it did make a differance....a big differance, I removed the intercooler and installed a 2 1/2 inch pipe and took it for a drive, now before I was running 4 psi and after 7 psi before a hose connection came apart......I wasn't at redline so it probably will see 8 psi or more.....that means I need the intercooler or water injection for that kind of boost.......dam if I put any more money in the car My wife will be my ex.....stock ati intercooler for sale
OK...reminds me of when I first put the supercharger on, I kept blowing supercharger hoses until they were tight enough.... 9 psi @ 6000 rpm.....thats a 5 psi increase by removing the stock ati intercooler.......what in the heck did they sell me , it must be made for a bling bling. stock ati intercooler still for sale.

Maybe a dumb question but where are you measuring the boost pressure?
Well there must have been a lot of restriction in that IC that they gave you. Did you call them and tell them your findings? I am very curious as to what their explanation is. The next thing you need to do is to compare intake air charge temps with and without the IC. At 10 PSI of boost without an IC in my car I see IAT temps of around 175 to 190 degrees on a 85 degree day!
Well ....I've been thinking about it and with the stock l98 engine I saw 8 psi with the 8 psi pulley through this intercooler, now with the free flowing 383 ( big port heads and superram etc.) I saw 4 psi....installed ati smallest pulley (12 psi) and still 4 psi of boost sometimes alittle more. the p600b will flow 1200 cfm, the d1 will flow 1400 cfm....I think I was at the limit of the intercooler........now boost is a product of the amount of restriction in the engine, a free flowing engine is going to require more air before it backs up and the pressure builds, but that doesn't explain how others are attaining 550 hp with the same intercooler unless they are forceing the air through the intercooler with say 20 psi and then seeing 11 psi at the manifold which my p600b wasn't capable of producing or ati sent me a too small intercooler, I did buy a kit for a stock l98 corvette. I'm still very happy that I found the problem with the system. 9 psi with this motor and a p600b isn't bad.
