Default Fuel Filter/Pump Question

I am getting ready to change the in-line fuel filter on my stock LT1. In order to relieve the fuel line pressure I have hit upon the thought of removing the #14 fuse for the fuel pump & running the engine until it uses up the residual fuel.

3 questions:

- Will this trigger a fault code?

- If so is it resettable by reinstalling the fuse and cycling the ECM through several stop/start cycles?

- Any other problems this may cause?

I am thinking this is better than getting soaked.

Changed mine last weekend and that's the way it should be done. Two things - run it as low on fuel as you feel comfortable and remove the gas cap (this helps relieve the pressure) and you're good to go. You will still have some dripping to deal with.
