Default Headlight bulb replacement

Hey,
My passenger head light is the origional plasticy one and has started to turn yellow and doesn't emitlight well anymore. I went into a dealership and they said I needed to simply replace the "bulb". So I purchased one there for $25 dollars. I appears to be one of the totally conatined units where you simply plug it in and screw it secure. My question is how do I get the old one out and put the new one in. It doesn't have any directions and I am not the most knowledgable person when I comes to stuff like that. I don't know if the light housing needs to be taken apart or what. If anyone has done this or knows how to do it I would really appreciate some advise. Or step by step instructions.
Also how do you calibrate the light so it is pointed at the right angle in the right direction. I see the adjustment screws but I don't know how it should be alligned.
Thatnks for any help you can give guys.

The first thing you should do is return the headlight to the dealer and then go to any major auto parts store and buy one for about ten bucks. As for the the actual replacement instructions, they've been written up before and if the Search feature was working, you'd have them in about two minutes. There are about four screws that have to be removed to get the headlight cover off (you have to half open the headlights to gain access to a couple of them) and a couple to get the headlight out. I've done it and it's not hard at all but someone should be along in a bit with a detailed write-up. I was able to find some instructions for calibrating the lights at another Corvette forum

Default Head lights

Also have a 1996 and have changed the headlights about six months
ago. On ebay. you can buy the new hid headlight kit for about $19.00
In your owners manual it describes in detail how to change your
headlights. Both take about ten minutes each. Get an owners manual.

Actually, there's a GM site where you can download a PDF version of the owners manual. I've got a link for it somewhere. I'll post it later...

If you don't mind spending a little for better lighting, you should look at some of the H4 conversion options.

For instance:

The original sealed beams are terrible compared to any modern car. These made a huge improvement.

Get a set of CIBIE or HELLA EURO replacement lamps and some PIAA super white bulbs. That is what I am running in my 95 and the difference between the stock OE style lamps was amazing. Its not near as nice as a set of HIDs but no one makes a decent retro fit for a H4 conversion But its lots better than OE lamps by a long shot!

Whoops, I said I'd post the site and then kind of forgot. Once you register (it's free) you'll have access to a link that will allow you to download your owner's manual. BTW, did you get your headlight replaced?

I agree with the others...return that bulb...I replaced my sealed beams with Sylvania Silverstars..plug and play install and much improved night vision...cost around $50 for the pair...
