Default hooker 2151 long tubes

Hey guys! I am installing a set of 2151 long tubes on my 95 vette. Has anyone done this already and could they tell me how there fit up went and any tricks that might have to be done? Thanks Ray

Default Cat-Back Alterations

I don't know about the Hookers. But, on my 94 with the Exoctic Muscle headers, the cat-back connection tubes had to be narrowed to hook up.

Good Luck

A lot of people on here have. Do a search for Hooker headers. Let us know how it goes, I have been considering this mod for some time.

It won't bolt up to your cat-back but it can easily be modified by any competent exhaust shop. You will have to drop the cats or spend a lot of money for bullet cats.

Install Tips:
Reverse the Engine mount bolts on both sides for proper clearance.
Since the alt is located at the drivers side, one of the alt brackets had to be removed. Fitment issue. (Not sure if that's the case w/ the 95.)
I have the OBDI system so I only have a single O2 sensor per/side, I highly recommend placing it into the collector and not on a single tube.
Some folks have had issues with the headers not getting hot enough
to properly trigger the 02 sensors since it'll have to be re-located further down the exhust pipe. I never had an issue.
I highly recommend the coated headers. Minimizes heat in the engine compartment.
Purchase a good set of header gaskets (Copper, etc) and bolts (stainless steel) My non-stainless steel bolts occasionally got loose and some fell off even though I tightened the heck out of it. I eventually used thread lock compound and it's worked fine since.
Good time to replace your 02 sensors, if you've accumulated high miles.
As stated above. The headers will not bolt right up to your existing CAT. Modifications will need to be done. Don't sweat it, an exhaust shop can do it on a drop of a dime.

If I had to do it again. I would. The hookers are of fine quality and the price was right. The flange is a bit thinner than others I've seen but not an issue. The bottom of the car clearance is great. Better than others I've seen. The performance gain was awesome.

Enjoy & Good luck
Hank

Great thanks to everyone who answered especially to Hank. I got them on and everything was the way Hank described it. The only other thing I had to do is cut some of the flange that bolts to the head to make room for the plug wire brackets. Thanks again.
