Rusty Hood Latch
I have an 86 corvette and where the hood closes on the drivers side I have noticed rust. It's in where the hood spring goes down and latches. I know I have to go in there and clean that rust out before it causes a problem. How can I pop that plate cover off so I can remove the rust.

Hinge Rust
Not at home to look at my car until later, but I believe your rust problem has occured because the water drain holes at the bottom of the latch are clogged. This is a problem area for the C4's.
