The TPIS throttle body on my 91 has about had it. I'm sick of oiling it once a week. Since I'm a cheap bastard, and since I don't need a 52mm anyway, I'm going to buy a used stock throttle body. What I've read on thirdgen.org is that the LT1 throttle body has different IAC & TPS connectors, and that the throttle cable bracket is different. The IAC & TPS connectors are an easy swap, but my question is about the throttle cable. The late TPI cars used the nautilus-style throttle linkage, which is different than the early TPI style. Is the late TPI style the same as the LT1 style, or would I need to swap throttle cables in order to use an LT1 throttle body?
My reason behind all of this is that the late TPI-style throttle bodies aren't exactly a dime a dozen like the LT1 style, so as long as I don't have to screw with the throttle cable, it'll be a lot easier for me to find a nice used LT1 throttle body.
The problem is that the linkage on the early cars (85 to 89 or 90) isn't the same as what my 91 uses. I either need to find a late TPI throttle body (needle in a haystack) or use an LT1 (common as can be) if the throttle crap is the same.
