Car will not run...help.
Car wasn't running all that great but it was only a couple of blocks. Got it home , shut it off and now it won't start again.
No codes showing, I can start it with my foot on the thottle but it will not idle when I let the throttle go. Seems the same as when the MAF was pooched but then it showed codes.
Now what have I done? What should I do?
Thanks. :ack

It worked but I still am not up to normal power.
I can drive it but the tires won't even chirp off the line.
So far this summer I have replaced:
Fuel pump
Both fuel filters
plugs (plus cut them back)
wires
distributor cap
rotor
filter (K&N and cut out my filter lid)
ignition module
MAF sensor
Any suggestions would help
I am also hearing a banging from I think the rear end. I will search this on other posts. Could it be related to the power loss?
Leaving it disconnected for 5 - 10 minutes will reset the ecm.
Does the car run better w/MAF disconnected? If so you have a defective MAF.
I have an aftermarket MAF as well. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is not bad.

Just number 12 now.
With the MAF out it would not start, then I put the new MAF in and it still wouldn't start.
I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes to reset it, still wouldn't start.
Left it for about 5 hours, came back, took the MAF out again and it started. I didn't expect this. I put the MAF in and it started with it in, went for a drive and the power is just not there.
I ordered the MAF from Mid America, and I know it's going to be freaking expensive to send back from Canada.
How can I find out if the MAF is good or not?
Obviously if I had one I knew was good I could switch them and compare but I only have the one.
Thanks
