I am telling you that 870 computer is the ticket. I like to call it the electronic carb. It's the "Forest Gump" of ECMs. Tell it to do something, it does it to a T.
Remember what momma said, "Stupid is, as stupid does"
86--383-- Can the stock computer handle a stroked 383 with all mods . Is there an upgraded computer to switch to. I dont mean just the chip.
I helped a friend tune an 86 with a procharger. As for peak numbers we only picked up like 20 horsepower over what he had. Area under the curve though was insane, at 5000 RPM's we picked up over 100 horsepower!
Eventually we ran out of injector though. With the stock size injector in the upper RPM's it started going lean and even with the injectors maxxed in the computer it couldn't feed it. For a normally aspirated application though it'll do just fine!
This car would have been fine with either some slightly larger injectors or some more fuel pressure, neither of which did we have. It was neat though, considering it still had the TPI intake and watching it go lean. That just doesn't happen, a TPI that had too much air
