Default TPS Voltage?

What should the voltage from the TPS be on a LT1/4 with the throttle closed and fully open?

Closed: .40 to .85 volts with .50 being happy medium. Anything less than .90v is construed as zero or closed throttle to the PCM.

WOT: 4.50v to 5.00v

Will it hurt the tranny if

.8 @ idle
5.3 @ WOT

My tranny builder says the 5.3 volts at WOT causes the tranny to shift later in the rpm range. Is that true? Mine seems to hit the rev limiter before I have to let off the gas for it to shift. And could that cause the 3-4 clutch packs to go? Because mine did shortly there after.

No because the PCM sees it as 100% throttle position. Voltage out does not cause any harm to the transmission. There maybe other cause that is causing your upshift problem, what year is your car and what stall convertor are you running.

hmmm, assuming that your vette is a 96 aren't the 96's "self centering"?

That would mean reaming out the adjustment holes...

I replaced the stock TB with a 52mm unit and want to ensure that the TPS is adjusted properly. I figure that this may require elongating the holes.

Mine is a 95 with a 2800 stall PI Vigilante. At WOT in 2nd, it feels like it hits the rev limiter and will not shift until I back off the gas. Is there anything else I can check?

I did do the 58mm TB too and figured if TPS voltage is correct, I should be fine.

No It isn't because of the TPS, it is a problem with the OBD1 PCM accepting the 2800 stall convertor. Do you have a custom program for the PCM and the new convertor? The F body guys have been fighting this for a long time. They have installed 3000 stall convertors in their cars only to find out that they have this upshift problem. At what RPM are you bumping the rev limiter. At 2800 I beleive it can be made to work.
