Hmmm, I just had to trim the drip tabs and the bolt towers to get my stock '88 covers to fit over the ProMags.

If you don't want to modify your stock covers to fit, Proform/GMPP makes some decent looking valve covers that fit perfectly over the 1.6 RRs. They come in chrome, polished, or black and I think go for about $120. I got a set in black and then sold my stockers on Ebay, which almost paid for the new covers

I have the crane energizer rockers which are huge and trimming the drip tabs and the side of bolt towers cured the promlem.

I had some custom made. They are the tall version and you can see by the picture that the corner has been shaved for clearences on the wiper motor.

I will use my stock covers and Crane Gold Narrow Body rockers. Works in my 91 Firebird with no issues.

I don't know if you're looking for perimeter or center bolt style, but AC Delco makes a perimeter style, chrome set which have the BowTie emblem and Chevrolet on them. Also, each cover has a baffle installed. They clear CompCams Pro Magnum 1.6 RRs too.

They are thicker metal than most others, too; got mine from Summit.

BTW, they're priced right.

Jake

I have the Edelbrock Elite series rocker covers. They fit over roller rockers, look good but don't have chev logo.

As Jake mentioned, more info is needed. Here's at least one reason why...if you have a Superram, it's very tight, and you can't get away with something too tall. One of the coolest valvecovers (IMO)are the heavy cast alums with the raised Bowtie. Won't clear a TPI style intake. Some of the really cool fabricated ones won't fit either. The GMPP Proform covers fit and are made in both perimeter and centerbolt style. About $120 USD in polished alum with engraved "Chevrolet" and a red Bowtie. Pace Parts among others, sell them.
